Category Archives: GREAT LOOKS

The skin is not only the foundation or the canvas of beauty. It works 24/7 to protect our bodies from tough weather, UV rays, injuries, and many more. Apart from protecting the body from harmful toxins, it also helps moderate body temperature. The importance of keeping your skin strong and healthy is crucial not only for ageless beauty, but for good health in general. Therefore, setting aside a few minutes each day to tend to our skin seems a small price to pay.

A good skin-cleansing regime is more than just clean skin. It also helps prevent breakouts, keep premature ageing at bay, and promotes the glow of good health. By following three simple steps, which include cleansing, toning, and moisturising, you can keep your skin glowing with natural beauty all day every day!

If you want a great-looking and glowing skin, you should start by knowing your skin type. Then you’ll know how to take care of it: the best product to use for certain skin type; how often do you need to perform the skincare regime; and what are the thing to avoid.

Having a clean face is vital for clear skin. Cleansing will remove dirt, oil and bacteria from your skin that may cause breakouts. It will also stimulate the blood circulation in your face, rejuvenating your skin to a healthy glow. Stick with facial cleansers that are gentle and designed for your skin type. Work the cleanser into lather in your hands. Wash your face and neck in a circular motion for a couple minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water — never with water that is too hot or too cold. Extremes in temperature may irritate your skin and cause damage.

Pat dry with a clean and soft towel. Never dry your skin with the family hand towel! If your towel is not clean you could be transferring bacteria onto your fresh, clean face. Be sure not to scrub too vigorously or too long. Overdoing it may cause inflammation, redness and lead to breakouts and swelling.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Exfoliate at least once a week. Gentle exfoliation buffs away dead cells on your face resulting in smoother, brighter skin. Just like a cleanser, make sure to find a scrub that’s suitable for your skin type.

Step 2: TONE

After cleansing, use toner to soak up excess oil and remove dirt and dead skin cells from your face further. Apply a small amount of liquid facial toner to a cotton ball or pad. Take care not to saturate the cotton ball or pad with the facial toner but put enough facial toner on the cotton ball or pad so that it glides easily over your face. Move the cotton ball or pad gently in small circles across your face, paying special attention to your chin, nose, cheeks and hairline. After applying toner, do not dry your skin with a towel before applying moisturizer — just let your skin breathe and air-dry.

It is important to look for toners without alcohol because it can severely dry your skin. Also be sure to select a toner for your skin type; many companies offer toners especially formulated for sensitive skin or acne-prone skin. Toning is very important part of your skin regimen because it restores your face’s pH balance –many people tend to skip the toner especially in the morning. But it’s actually a very important step because it balances the pH of your skin and preps it for moisturizing.

You need a moisturizer to help your skin stay soft and smooth and to remain hydrated. Even if you have oily skin, you need to keep it moisturized. Apply moisturizer on your face and neck, paying special attention to the area around your eyes and lips, which can get excessively dry. Use approximately a quarter-sized drop to avoid leaving your skin feeling greasy, and make sure to rub it evenly across your entire face so the moisturizer doesn’t settle into the pores around your hairline. Make certain that cream gets into your fine lines by swirling it in using circular motions. Use your ring finger and do so gently to prevent tugging or tearing your delicate skin.

Pick a product suited for your skin type. Choose something that gives your face just enough moisture without feeling oily or greasy. It’s also a good idea to find a moisturizer that will give you protection from the sun throughout the day. Always remember that sunscreen is your last step in the morning. It should sits on top of your skin, so if it goes on first, it prevents other ingredients from penetrating. Therefore, select a lightweight one that’s enough to layer over multiple products.
